Our new Baby

Today has been a big day for Ahn Family.
After finding out Mindy had a small leak in her amniotic bag she had to have the medication taken away that was stopping her contractions. It didn't take long before they found out she had an infection in her placenta and they had to take the baby c-section. As most of us there would say... it happened very fast .
At 25 weeks today the baby weighed 1 lb 10 oz and is 13 inches long. She has been responding well to the medication given to help her lungs expand and Her blood tests have come back showing no infections. She is doing as good as could be expected for a 25 week baby.

As for old news... Mindy went to the hospital on Friday - July 4th because she had dilated to a 4 and her amniotic bag was coming down due to an "incompetent cervix". She was also having contractions and was still dilating. By Saturday she had dilated to a 5 but was looking good on keeping her contractions stable. The doctors and nurses, as well as family had hoped we could keep her stable for a few weeks. We were all prepared for a long time at the hospital. Except Casey who just knew his daughter would be here soon.
