What's going on with Riley

Some of the things Riley has been through the last few weeks.

As you know that Riley had some hemorrhages in her head that we're a concern. They have been monitoring it thru ultra sound and they also monitor her head circumferences to be sure it's not getting enlarged from her not releasing fluid properly. Last week her head got very big so they did an ultra sound to make sure everything was okay. As it turns out she was just having a very big growth spurt. Her ultra sound showed everything was stable and also that she is finally absorbing the blood from the hemorrhages (a good thing).

She had an infection in her leg but, it is now gone and she's doing just fine.

She currently (as of yesterday) weighed 2 lbs 15 oz and is now in just regular preemie diapers instead of preemie preemie diapers (LOL). Mindy thought she would be close too or at 3 lbs today. When I was their yesterday it was very interesting to watch her crying a pulling at her tubes. the interesting part was watching Casey trying to sooth her and want to know what was wrong. After several attempts to help her. She finally got comfortable with holding daddy's hand above her head. When he couldn't hold it up anymore. The nurse came in an put her on her stomach and she was much happier. Even preemies have fits until they get what the want.

On one day Mindy found her in the corner of her crib. She had wiggled and moving enough to move her to the corner.. I told Casey and Mindy once after watching her one day trying to push her self up with her hands that she would be crawling around the incubator before they sent her home. I didn't realize how true that statement was. he he

All and all she is growing fast and doing very well.

Haha, Im so glad to here how well she's doing. Your baby definately has an angel looking out for her. Thats too cute, she's exploring her crib. Sounds like she wants to get her freedom and go home. She's tring to escape, lol. I cant wait to meet her when I come down in a few months!

We love our Riley
